Ofsted April 2025
We are delighted to share the wonderful news that following our recent Ofsted inspection on the 1st and 2nd of April 2025, Ashby Fields Primary School has been officially rated 'Good' in all areas — a tremendous achievement and a significant milestone in our journey of continuous improvement.
The inspection report highlights the strength of our whole-school community. It opens with the words, “Pupils thrive at this school. They are happy and feel safe,” which reflects the warm, inclusive, and respectful environment we strive to create every day. Inspectors noted that “pupils behave well in lessons and work well together,” and they were particularly impressed by the “culture of acceptance” and how our children “recognise the value of difference.”
Our dedicated staff have worked tirelessly to raise standards, and we are proud that this effort was recognised. The report states that “effective leadership has ensured that the school has improved the quality of its work since the previous inspection” and that “the school provides pupils with a good standard of education.”
We are especially proud that our early years provision was also rated Good, with inspectors commenting that “learning is well thought out and not left to chance” and that “children get off to a good start in developing their reading skills.” This is a testament to our commitment to providing strong foundations for every child from the very beginning of their learning journey.
Reading continues to be a strength throughout the school. The report highlights how “any pupils who find reading more difficult are supported well so that they become confident and fluent readers.” Additionally, our inclusive practices ensure that “pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities are well supported” and “make positive progress through the curriculum.”
Inspectors also praised our focus on character development, stating that “pupils are well prepared for life in modern Britain” and benefit from “meaningful opportunities to help them to grow as individuals.” From annual residential trips to our much-loved school band, our commitment to enriching experiences beyond the classroom was clearly recognised.
This success is shared by everyone in our community — pupils, parents, carers, staff, governors, and the wider Inspire Multi Academy Trust. As the report notes, “leaders and staff are proud to be part of the school” and feel “valued because it cares about their well-being and workload.”
We are proud of how far we have come, and even more excited for what lies ahead. Thank you for your continued support and partnership — it truly makes a difference. We look forward to building on this success and taking the next steps together.
