Further to feedback from the Parent Survey, I am pleased to be able to offer an accredited ICT course in Parent College (Led by Northampton College) - ITQ Level 1 Award qualification.
Summary: The qualification aims to develop knowledge of standard IT hardware and software and develop knowledge of different software applications and use them to complete tasks effectively. To achieve this qualification, candidates must complete the Mandatory Unit plus 2 of the Optional Units.

Improving Productivity Using IT
Who is this course for: ITQ will benefit anyone who uses, or needs to use IT in their everyday work. This course is for students who have basic IT skills or those who would like to broaden their application knowledge to produce simple documents. If you use IT on a daily basis and want to prove your ability across a range of applications then ITQ is for you. The course prepares you with a range of skills necessary to meet the demands of the modern workplace and to obtain a Level 1 qualification.
Entry Requirements: Candidates must be able to demonstrate literacy skills, generally at Level 1 minimum. Basic keyboard and mouse skills are also necessary.
How is the course assessed: An assessment will be completed for each module. You must pass all elements to achieve the qualification.
The course will begin on Tuesday 26th September and continue for 10 sessions, each session will run from 3.30 – 5.30. There is no cost for the course and all are welcome to attend. A sign up letter is on the this page of the website but you can also just attend on the day and sign up then.

Welcome to Ashby Fields' Parent College
Ashby Fields' Parent College is available for all adult family members of children in our school. Sessions run on a Tuesday after school from 3.30 - 4.30 and childcare is available for school age children. Sessions are run by Northampton College and are aimed at allowing you to further improve your subject knowledge while also enabling you to continue to support your children at home.
As more people join, we will be able to offer accredited courses and a wider range of subjects. Currently, the college is offering English sessions - focusing on writing skills, including CVs and letters. After Easter, sessions will be Maths and ICT will follow after May half term.
Please feel free to come along and join this friendly group, sessions are free and flexible so can be led by your needs.
